    Announcing… Shindig’s Backlog Busters!

Matt RyanBy Matt RyanJanuary 17, 2018

Like seemingly everyone else on the planet, I have a huge backlog of games that I’ve bought at some point in time but haven’t got around to actually playing. I’m not overly concerned about this, to be fair—I’ve tried to do the #backlogzero thing before, and the stress of it all meant that I was playing games because I felt like I had to, and didn’t enjoy them as a result.

Still, there are plenty of games in that backlog that I really do want to play, and do want to find some time for. Inspired by a few other people I’ve seen on Twitter doing similar things, I thought I might seek some help from you lovely folks.

Here’s how it’s going to work. Below is a list of games I’ve pulled out of the backlog, from which I’ll randomly draw four to put to a vote on Twitter. You vote for which game you think I should play out of that lot, then I’ll play whichever game wins the poll, tweet my way through it, and write up some thoughts. When I’ve finished, I’ll draw another four from the backlog, and we’ll start over again. Easy!

(Note: I’ve seen a lot of people doing one-game-per-week type things with this, and while that’s admirable, I don’t want to commit myself to that. A lot of the games in this list are huge, and I have limited time for playing games that I’m not reviewing.)
