The Nintendo Switch version of the colourful JRPG Witch Spring 3 Re:Fine – The Story of Eirudy – will soon be making its way west, courtesy of ININ Games and Studio Artdink. There’s no release date just yet, but it will be released both digitally and physically, with a couple of limited editions from Strictly Limited Games also on the way.
A JRPG that combines turn-based combat, exploration, and crafting (think Atelier), Witch Spring 3 tells the story of Eirudy, a witch who lives deep in the forest with only her enchanted marionettes for company. One day, while hiding from some hunters, she runs into an adventurer called Adrian, and finds herself “thrown into the tide that determines the fate of deities and humans.”
Witch Spring 3 originally came out for mobile a few years ago. Re:Fine is a remaster of that game, with revamped graphics, improved sound effects, and Japanese voice-overs—a first first for the Witch Spring series. There are also new costumes and events exclusive to the Switch release. (And if its mobile origins raises microtransaction red flags, don’t worry—the original is a premium game with no in-app purchases.)

Strictly Limited Games has a couple of different limited-run physical editions up for pre-order now:
Limited Edition (limited to 2,200)
- the game
- paper manual
- “exclusive titlesheet variant”
Collector’s Edition (limited to 1,300 copies)
- the game
- Collector’s Edition Box
- paper manual
- art book
- soundtrack
- large poster
- standee
- pinsticker sheet
- 10 character cards
There are also extremely limited bundles for both versions that include a Failur plushie, though the Collector’s Edition bundle—limited to 200 copies—is already sold out. You can still get the Limited Edition bundle at the time of writing, though there are only 300 of those available total, so expect those to sell out quickly, too.

The Witch Spring series has been kicking around on mobile for a while now. Spanning four games so far (Witch Spring 4 came out in December 2019), it had reached more than 1.7 million downloads as of April last year—an impressive number for premium games in a marketplace and genre dominated by gacha games. They’re only a couple of bucks each, and well worth checking out, at least to tide you over until Witch Spring 3: Re:Fine comes to Switch.
