Scarlet Nexus gets a June 25 release date and an anime adaptation

Matt RyanBy Matt RyanMarch 23, 2021

On Friday, Bandai Namco announced a release date for its upcoming “brain punk” RPG Scarlet Nexus. It launches June 25 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC, with pre-orders open now.

Taking place in a future were extrasensory abilities are commonplace and the world is under attack by aliens that are weak to psychic powers, Scarlet Nexus follows the interweaving stories of two members of the Other Suppression Force (OSF). Yuito Sumeragi is a new recruit with a lot of potential (and some family connections), while Kasane Randall is an elite soldier with a troubled past.

A new story trailer sheds a bit more light on Kasane, her past, and some of the party members who join her:

Along with the release date, Bandai Namco announced two different special editions of Scarlet Nexus, both of which are available for pre-order now. The digital-only Deluxe Edition includes the game, a digital art book, original soundtrack, and three in-game items: the Special Battle Attire Set -Red-, Cosmetic “The Other” and SAS Plug-in.

The Bandai Namco Store-exclusive Guardians Edition comes with game, three art prints, a hardcover art book, an OSF sticker, a steel book case, and all the digital items from the Deluxe Edition. Pre-orders of any version come with the Special Battle Attire Set -Audio-, Cosmetic “Dream Catcher”, Cosmetic “Face Vision Seal”, and Attachment Set “Baki”.

And finally, Bandai Namco revealed that there will be Scarlet Nexus anime adaption, produced by Sunrise. It’ll have a global simultaneous release this northern summer / southern winter, streaming on AnimeLab in Australia and New Zealand, on Funimation in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, United Kingdom and Ireland, and on Wakanim in Russia, France, Germany and Scandinavia.

Scarlet Nexus is coming to PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC on June 25.
