Orange Juice’s bullet hell shoot-’em-up Flying Red Barrel – The Diary of a Little Aviator is finally coming to Steam and in a remastered form on June 19, publisher Fruitbat Factory announced today.
Flying Red Barrel takes place in an world where planes have only recently been invented. Outlaws and sky pirates have turned the skies into a lawless place, but an organisation called the Guild works to maintain order. But there’s more to the Guild than meets the eye, and that’s something a young Guild aviator is going to find out.

One of the things that sets this game apart is the many different endings available, based on your actions in the game. Things like your performance on bonus levels, whether or not you destroy certain targets, and even whether you listen to all of some characters’ dialogue before shooting them down.
Flying Red Barrel first came out for PC in 2007, but until now, it hasn’t been available through Steam. The English version appeared on a few different PC platforms over the years, but at present can only be found on Amazon, where it isn’t available outside the USA.

The Steam version comes with an improved resolution, modern controller options, and support for English, Japanese, and Simplified and Traditional Chinese languages. Additionally, anyone who buys it will unlock a bonus character in 100% Orange Juice, Orange Juice’s popular digital board game.
Orange Juice is a doujin circle established in 2004, made up of Junpyon (artist, game designer, and programmer) and hono (artist, scenario writer, and voice actor). They primarily create shoot-’em-ups like QP Shooting, Sugiri, and Sora, but they’ve also been known to branch out on things like 100% Orange Juice and the retro RPG 200% Mixed Juice!
