2K plans to continue dropping new content for Civilization VI for at least the next year, in the form of a New Frontier Pass that will see the addition of numerous new civilisations, leaders, and game modes.
The New Frontier Pass will cover six new DLC packs, released on a bi-monthly basis from May 2020. All up, the pass will cover eight new civilisations, nine new leaders, six new game modes, and a variety of districts, buildings, city-states.
The first of these packs will be available from 21 May , introducing the Maya and Gran Columbia civs and their associated leaders, as well as a new “Apocalypse” game mode and new City-States, Resources, and Natural Wonders. The Apocalypse mode will require the previously-released Gathering Storm expansion to play.
After that, new packs will come out every two months. Here’s the full breakdown:
Pack #1: Maya & Gran Colombia Pack. Adds two new civilizations and leaders, one new game mode*, new City-States, Resources, and Natural Wonders. Available May 2020.
Pack #2: Ethiopia Pack. Adds one new civilization and leader, one new game mode**, one new District and two new Buildings. Available July 2020.
Pack #3: Adds two new civilizations and leaders, one new game mode**, new World Wonders, and one new map. Available September 2020.
Pack #4: Adds one new civilization and leader, one new game mode, new City-States, and numerous new Great People. Available November 2020.
Pack #5: Adds one new civilization and two new leaders***, one new game mode, a new District, and two new Buildings. Available January 2021.
Pack #6: Adds one new civilization and leader, one new game mode, new World Wonders, and one new map. Available March 2021.

The New Frontier Pass will be available across all platforms Civilization VI is already out for, namely PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. It’ll cost USD $39.99 / £32.99 (Australian and New Zealand pricing is to be confirmed).
Those who purchase the pass will also get the exclusive Teddy Roosevelt and Catherine de Medici Persona Packs, each providing a new leader personality reflected in their character model, gameplay bonuses, and agendas. “Rough Rider Teddy” is all about keeping the peace on his home continent, and “Magnificence Catherine” is a force of Culture and Tourism through her Luxuries. These packs will be delivered in July, at the same time as the second DLC pack.
Finally, Firaxis and 2K also announced that there’ll be six free updates for all Civilization VI players, released alongside the New Frontier Pass add-ons. These updates will focus on balance changes and free content, as well as a some “other surprises”.
